Determining the Optimal Directions of Investment in Regional Renewable Energy Development

The growth of renewable energy facilities worldwide creates new challenges for sustainable regional development. Unregulated investment flows in the green sector cause disparities deployment various technologies, worsen ability to balance national systems, etc. This article is first comprehensive study that offers a methodology multifactor modeling considering priorities national, regional, and local authorities within development concept. proposed methodological approaches help (1) determine types technologies priority region, (2) select specific projects receive budgetary support on territories, (3) form optimal mechanism budget financing distribution technologies. factors include natural conditions resource base territory; its economically feasible potential; territory’s needs; installed capacity electricity generation facilities; power plants’ life cycle duration, amount, model approbation example household solar wind plants Sumy Ukraine, has shown need significantly increase financial projects, primarily due region’s deficit. Calculations revealed interest-free loan share both should be 2.843 2.844 times higher than basic lending (20%). For 30-kW plant project, indicator 64.67% instead one 56.86% home facilities.
